Anna Hovan

In her paintings, Anna Hovan explores identity through the prism of beauty. Contemporary culture actively shapes external image through fashion, social media, and evolving standards of attractiveness - but the question remains: who are we beyond these constructs? She sees beauty not as a goal, but as a gateway to reflection on the self. For her, it resides not only in facial features, but also in energy, inner strength, and the right to be oneself. Her subjects are women of different races, ages, and types. In their gazes, postures, and skin tones, there is not just aesthetic form, but a visible trace of personal history. Through her work, the artist creates visual metaphors that reflect the tension between how individuals wish to be perceived and who they truly are.Beauty in her work is not a conclusion it is a starting point: an invitation to dialogue and introspection. Here, identity is not fixed; it exists on the shifting border between the outer and the inner, between perception and authenticity.
